Tornio experience

During these two engaging hours, you will have the chance to discover the magical process of producing pottery on the wheel. Immerse yourself in a creative and inspiring environment, where tourists are transformed into apprentice ceramists. You will be accompanied by an expert craftsman who will guide you step by step through the process of creating a wonderful ceramic work of art. You will be surprised to see how a simple piece of clay comes to life under your hands. Our experience begins with a brief introduction to wheel pottery and basic techniques. Then, you will have the opportunity to put your hands in fresh clay paste and shape it on the potter's wheel. Guided by the expert craftsman, you will learn the right movements and techniques to shape and mold the clay according to your creativity. As the lathe turns, your work of art will take shape before your eyes. You will be able to choose the type of object you want to create, such as a cup, bowl or vase. The expert ceramist will provide you with personalized advice and tips to help you create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. During the two-hour experience, the ceramic glazing process and the different decorative techniques that can be used to make the object even more special will also be explained. You'll also learn how to use tools to carve, grip and decorate clay. At the end of the experience, the artwork you created will be set aside for the drying, firing and glazing process.
